The key domestic indices ended marginally higher. Nifty Metal, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Media shares gained, while Nifty Realty and Nifty Healthcare Index shares declined.

As per provisional closing data, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, added 362.57 points or 0.48% to 76,515.43. The Nifty 50 index inched up 24.25 points or 0.10% to 23,897.70. In the past three trading sessions, the Nifty and Sensex slipped by 0.66% and 0.56%, respectively.

The broader market failed to keep pace with frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index remained flat and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index edged higher by 0.24%.

The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 2901 shares advanced and 2245 shares retreated. A total of 233 shares were unchanged.

Tata Steel Ltd was the top traded stock in NIFTY50 index today, recording a quantity of 365.01 lakh shares and recorded a sharp increase of 6.72% compared to last one-week’s average daily volume. The stock has dropped sharply 3.56% in last one-month and has soared 9.74% over last one year.

Eternal Ltd was the second highest traded stock in NIFTY50 index today, recording a quantity of 178.24 lakh shares and recorded a sharp decline of 72.97% compared to last one-week’s average daily volume. The stock has risen sharply by around 4.61% in last one-month and has slipped 0.40% over last one year.

The Nifty Metal index inched up by 1.07% to 13317.45 today. The index has declined by 1.86% in last one week and has posted modest gains of 2.02% over last one month. It rallied by 36.17% in last one year. APL Apollo Tubes Ltd (up 4.20%), Tata Steel Ltd (up 2.49%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 2.22%), Jindal Steel Ltd (up 1.75%) and JSW Steel Ltd (up 1.30%) traded higher.

The Nifty Financial Services index edged higher by 0.49% to 26051.0 today. The index has eased by 1.36% in last one week and has posted modest losses of 3.93% over last one month. It has edged higher by 0.74% in last one year. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (up 3.50%), BSE Ltd (up 3.14%), Power Finance Corporation Ltd (up 2.92%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (up 2.42%) and REC Ltd (up 1.63%) moved higher.

The Nifty Realty index inched down by 0.90% to 907.9 today. The index is modestly higher by 0.72% in last one week and has edged up 0.34% over last one month. It is up 2.98% in last one year. Brigade Enterprises Ltd (down 2.27%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd (down 1.75%), Oberoi Realty Ltd (down 1.39%), Godrej Properties Ltd (down 0.97%) and Lodha Developers Ltd (down 0.97%) went down.

The Nifty Healthcare Index index eased by 0.87% to 16408.05 today. The index is marginally lower by 0.93% in last one week and has slipped by 1.38% over last one month. It advanced by 14.18% in last one year. Zydus Lifesciences Ltd (down 2.01%), Mankind Pharma Ltd (down 1.73%), Divis Laboratories Ltd (down 1.62%), Laurus Labs Ltd (down 1.53%) and Fortis Healthcare Ltd (down 1.36%) retreated.
