India Q1FY27 GDP expands 7.8 percent

The Indian economy grew by 7.8% in the April-June quarter of the current fiscal year, up from 6.9% a year earlier. The Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices for the first quarter of FY27 is estimated at Rs 81.36 lakh crore, compared to Rs 75.46 lakh crore in the same quarter of the previous year. The Nominal GDP at current prices is estimated at Rs 88.27 lakh crore, up about 10% from Rs 80 lakh crore in the previous year. Gross value added grew by 8.2% in real terms, increasing from 7.1%. Agricultural growth slowed to 3.6%, the mining sector contracted by 2.4%, manufacturing grew by 9.2%, and construction increased by 7.7%. Overall, GDP growth has moderated from the strong 8.6% expansion seen in the March quarter.
