(11:44, 14 Aug 2026)
In its latest monthly update, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reported a significant increase in India's crude oil demand, projecting a rise to 5.71 million barrels per day (mbpd) by 2026, with further growth anticipated to reach 6.11 mbpd in 2027. This forecast indicates a robust surge of approximately 7%, primarily attributed to heightened demand in the last quarter of 2027. Additionally, OPEC anticipates that India's crude oil production will remain stable at 0.82 mbpd in 2026, showing no change compared to the previous year.
