NIFTY moves up, Nifty Auto stocks in focus

The key equity barometers traded with marginal gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 24381-24300. Nifty Auto, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Realty shares gained, while Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG shares fell. At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, added 36.39 points to 77,964.54. The Nifty 50 index up 40.55 points to 24,357.70. The broader market failed to keep pace with frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index inched up 0.40% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index posted modest gains of 0.63%. The market breadth was encouraging. On the BSE, 2870 shares rose and 1526 shares retreated. A total of 227 shares were unchanged. Nifty Auto index rallied 1.32% to 28651. The index has risen 6.79% in last one month and soared 19.09% over last one year. Ashok Leyland, gaining 4.49%, led the gainers followed by M & M, up 3.66% and Tube Investments, inching higher 2.36%, respectively. Out of 15 index constituents, 11 are reporting gains today. Nifty Financial Services index added 0.93% to 26496. The index has inched lower by 1.14% in last one month and edged lower by 1.69% over last one year. Bajaj Finance, moving higher 6.20%, led the gainers followed by Bajaj Finserv, edging up 4% and Cholaman.Inv.&Fn, adding 3.14%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 12 are reporting gains today. Nifty IT index fell 1.81%. The index has surged 18.61% in last one month and declined 12.08% over last one year. TCS, down 2.51%, led the loosers followed by Infosys, slipping 2.26% and Persistent Systems, easing 2.06%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting loss today. Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 11 are in green today. Nifty Auto index has registered sharp gains of 6.79% in last one month and has soared 19.09% over last year. Nifty IT index has posted strong gains of 18.61% in last one month and has tumbled 12.08% over last one year. From NIFTY50 index, JP Power Ven., Vodafone Idea AND HFCL are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 1208.18 lakh shares, 790.24 lakh shares and 7648.94 lakh shares respectively. Asian markets recorded robust advances on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is higher by 0.79%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is marginally lower by 0.29%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is sharply higher by 4.27%. NIFTY50 Aug-26 futures are in discount of 54.20 points today.
